The Freaks Shall Inherit the Earth
Two of the things that I gained from this book is that business is all about belonging. This means that you find a place that suits your interest as well as people understanding who you really are. The other part is success, that is being able to say yes to what to do and say no to what not to do. Success can also be interpreted in many ways. Some people think that at some level, money is required for success. Health is also another part of success that most of us forget. We also want to keep an open mind about what is possible and which path to get there. Most importantly, make your dreams flexible so that you can achieve success in multiple ways.
Another thing important for business, setting goals. That involves a legal contract, exchange money for value and marketing: a marketplace that your products/service actually serve.
Lastly, business is about care/customer satisfaction. People will never forget who you are and how you made them feel. Big names draws people to an event.
I am a loyal customer and I do care about brands especially for gas stations, stores and grocery stores. Not Price.
The only three things I do not care about brands, which most people do is cars and having a good house. I don't even like gallerias(unlike most people) such as Saks, Neiman Marcus, 7 for all mankind, Burberry, Brooks Brothers etc. I only care and like plain/good malls such as Dillard's and JCPenney. The Gap, Abercrombie & Fitch, Bannah Republic.
The main thing that I gained is time management. It is really important to balance out time for business and for family/relatives/friends.
